About Us

Sacred Heart Tattoo was founded in October 2007 by Matt Simmons, out of a desire to bring a new tattoo experience to Lincoln. While most of the reputable shops in town boast of quality work, as does Sacred Heart, not all of them were created for you. After many discussions with customers over the years, and experience working in other shops in Lincoln, Matt decided it was time for a change.

The first was to create a shop where customers are always treated with dignity and respect. We’re here to mix your ideas with our talent to create the tattoo you want, not the tattoo we want to do. Tattooing is an intimate art form, and we want your experience to be with an artist who respects you and your ideas.

The next change was to create an environment with your comfort in mind. Many people get nervous or feel overwhelmed when they go to get tattooed, so we removed the busy clutter of flash on the walls, and brought in artwork from local artists. We also brought in comfortable couches for our waiting area, and play laid back music to offer you a more relaxed atmosphere.

Finally, the artists at Sacred Heart Tattoo have all done apprenticeships under reputable artists, learning to draw and tattoo in a manner conducive to creating quality tattoo work that will last a lifetime.
